A Virginia native, Carrie is a lifelong, self taught artist. She has a background in wildlife management from Virginia Tech and a masters in animal behavior and photography, focused on elephants. She shares her passion for wildlife through her paintings. Her style is easy recognizable through the large expressive eyes and stained glass-like fine line details. Her favorite subject to paint are birds and African animals. Carrie has participated in the Richmond art scene for more than a decade. She has a passion for giving back through community volunteerism and often donates artwork and/or a portion of proceeds to local nonprofits or wildlife conservation efforts.
As part of communities, I believe that we have a responsibility to help support those in need, including those in particular from marginalized communities how need the support the most. Furthermore, in both my professional and personal life my community is comprised of a variety of marginalized people who I hold very near and dear to my heart.
