Pauline Clay, CPSA, CPX, is a self-taught artist who lives in a rural area of Dinwiddie County, Virginia, which provides incredible opportunities to experience the subtle, quiet beauty of nature. This natural beauty, and an intense love of flowers and travel, have become the inspiration for much of her colored pencil art. She shoots all of the photos she uses as references for her artwork and always has a camera or cellphone handy — just in case. She enjoys capturing what could be a fleeting moment and transforming it into artwork that allows people to enjoy nature’s splendor in a way they may not have previously experienced.
Pauline’s work has been featured in Color magazine, Colored Pencil Magazine, CP Treasures 8, CP Hidden Treasures (volumes 4, 5, 6 and 8), the book “Draw Seasons in Colored Pencil” as a featured artist, and in numerous international art competitions. She is a member of the UK Colour Pencil Society, a Signature Member of the Colored Pencil Society of America and a Juried Member of the International Guild of Realism. In addition to her website – www.paulineclay.com — you can also find her on Instagram and Facebook.
