Bloom Series I: Crimson Core

I create these small, intimate blooms by letting alcohol ink dance across ceramic tiles. The way colors ignite and push against each other, the moments when pigment blooms or burns at the edges. All of it feels like watching something alive come into being.
Each 4×4 tile is mounted on an 8x8x2 stained birch panel with a lift mount, giving the work breathing room and a sense of floating above the surface. The deep, rich woods ground the ethereal ink in something solid and warm.
This Bloom series explores transformation: how something delicate can carry intense color and energy, how chaos in the pour can resolve into beauty. I’m drawn to the unpredictability of the medium, you can try to guide it, but you never fully control it. That tension between intention and surrender is at the heart of the work.
These pieces are meditations on growth, resilience, and the quiet power found in small spaces.
