I love the freedom of painting an abstract. You might be surprised to learn that there are many, many layers, and what I start with will ultimately result in an entirely different painting in the end. It is an opportunity to let go of perfection, turn inward, and go with the flow. For this painting, I veered in a new direction with my color palette to see where it would take me. Knowing when to stop is the challenge, but I have learned to trust the artistic process.
Art For The Journey really touched home for me when my Mother, who was a resident of St. Mary’s Woods, was fortunate enough to participate in the OMA Program, staffed by caring volunteers from AFJ. She was very proud of her creations and shared her beautiful art with many family members. I am very grateful that she had this opportunity.
