Clay provides a palette for experimentation using color, form and texture. It allows and coerces me to explore process and patience. My logical consequence to not quite achieving the vision, wishing I’d tried something else or outright failure is – I get to do it all over again and learn something new. Art is awesome that way.
I have used art as a medium and framework to engage, encourage participation, learning and well being with children and adults as a teacher and therapist. I experience the same well being, joy and learning as my students as we work together. My daughter, in her work with adults as an art director, introduced me to Art for the Journey, and I have seen the joy, engagement and resilience her clients experience with their art work. What good work this is.
