Morir Soñando (translated as To Die Dreaming) takes its name from the beloved Dominican drink I grew up with, becoming a metaphor for memory, heritage, and hope. Layers of botanical forms, architecture, handwritten marks, and vibrant color intertwine to reflect the ways our experiences shape us over time.
Rather than telling a single story, the painting invites viewers to slow down and discover their own connections within the layers. Each mark represents both what is visible and what remains beneath the surface, reminding us that healing, growth, and identity are rarely linear. My hope is that the work offers a quiet space for reflection while celebrating resilience, joy, and the beauty that can emerge through transformation.
