This is a photo encaustic painting, used with permission, from a photograph obtained from Pixabay. A black and white photo printed on card stock was glued to this wood cradled panel. It was then painted with encaustic wax, and pan pastel powders to bring out this unique textured and colorful image. This Moth Orchid painting won 3rd place at the Virginia Orchid Society show this year at Lewis Ginter.
